Important Announcement! :)

Parents and Students,
As many of you know, Baby Johnson will be arriving sometime within the next three weeks. When he arrives, I will be out on maternity leave until the first of May. It's an exciting time for Mr. Johnson and me, as I am sure many of you remember! :) However, I want to make sure that the transition while I am gone is smooth. Therefore, I want to make sure that you are aware of the following changes and implementations.

* The substitute will NOT have access to my blog. Therefore, students will be using their planners ONLY to write down their homework. The planner/agenda is where you should check to make sure your child is doing the correct assignments nightly. To get the students ready for this routine, the blog will no longer be used starting this week.

* Late work is still NOT accepted. Therefore, if the student does not have the homework on the day it is due it is a ZERO. If the student was absent the day the homework was given then the make-up homework MUST be shown to the substitute by the next class period or it will be a ZERO.

* MJ1 Classes- The only grades for the rest of the 9 weeks will be from homework and test grades. If your child does not turn in homework or study for tests then their grade will suffer.

*Enrichment Classes- The grades will based on participation for FCAT preparation. If the student does not participate in classroom discussions or does not complete the FCAT prep work in class then points will be deducted from their grade.

* The substitute will NOT have access to grade portal, email, or phone. The grades will be entered by Ms. Taylor, the 6th grade administrator. Therefore, if you have any questions about grades or your student's success for the 3rd 9 weeks then please contact Ms. Taylor.

All year we have been preparing for FCAT to ensure that your child makes their yearly gain. We have come a long way! If your child continues to work hard in class by:
* Showing the same respect to the substitute as they do for myself and allow her to teach the material
* Complete homework on time
* Studying for tests
...then your child WILL be successful!
Please encourage your child to continue to work hard and that even though Mrs. Johnson will not be present during this time, it is not a time to let up! Grades STILL count and FCAT will be mid-April. Therefore, we still have time to grow and your child should take advantage of this time.
I appreciate all of your efforts to help your child at home! :)

Thank you for your time!!                                                           Sincerely, Mrs. Johnson
